As companies develop new technology that allow people to interact and move around physical spaces without being there themselves, it’s opening up strange new questions about what it means to be present and how we interact with robots that are acting on behalf of real people. Neyfakh reports on the conversations, interactions, and even a chance to dance that he experienced during his short, brief life on the People’s Bot, brought to the conference by a team of researchers at MIT.
