Cratejoy is growing and needs your help! We need a lead platform engineer to keep our platform fast/stable and add new mission critical functionality. You'll start as a pod lead of 1-2 engineers and grow into a 3-5 person pod lead. We've recently taken on a large (unannounced) round of funding and are starting to scale out, you'll be instrumental to that.

The right person for this role is a hardcore backend engineer who already has (or wants to learn how to ) run an engineering team before. The quality of the craft is paramount, but you also can relate what you're doing to the business objectives. You work towards the right answer, but sometimes will throw down a band-aid while you're doing so. You want to make sure everyone understands how things work by sharing knowledge and writing documentation. You are metrics focused and like to start your day off by checking on the health of the platform, you're comfortable optimizing for performance and uptime over the long haul.
