In our recent blog post, The State of ZFS on Linux, I argued that ZFS on Linux (ZoL) is production ready. If you accept my premise that ZFS is production ready, a logical question to ask is “is ZFS a suitable replacement for my current file system”? This post is intended to address that question by comparing ZFSOnLinux's implementation of the POSIX filesystem API with that of other file systems.
