An extortionist has targeted several early bitcoin adopters, threatening to expose personal information unless they pay bitcoin ransoms. Earlier this year, this person called a swat team to the home of cryptographer and bitcoin enthusiast Hal Finney, who was confined to a wheelchair at the time.
