Components of DARPA's Memex technology, which has been put to use by law enforcement agencies looking for human traffickers, go open source, with some intriguing partners revealed, including NASA, the Tor Project and a bunch of students and hackers. DARPA believes Memex won't just change the way police hunt criminals, but will also shake up the search industry, dominated by Google, Microsoft and Yahoo.
